What we would tell you in the studio

  • V-neck button front. The top opens with a neat V-neckline and secures with a row of dyed buttons. It falls straight through the body to land right around the hip without clinging.
  • Drawstring knit trousers. We built the bottoms with a wide elastic waist and an adjustable cord. The legs run straight down to the ankle and include two deep side pockets.
  • Yarn hand and stretch. The blend combines smooth drape with give across the shoulders and knees. It holds its shape over hours of sitting and keeps a soft touch directly against bare skin.
  • Cold wash care. Machine wash both pieces together in cool water to preserve the blue shade evenly. Lay them flat on a drying rack rather than hanging, so the trousers retain their length.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
