What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck top cut. The long-sleeve top has a plain round neck and side splits at the hip hem. The cut sits wide through the chest and drops straight down without clinging.
  • Wide trouser profile. We gave the knit trousers a generous wide-leg shape that falls straight to the floor. Deep side pockets sit flat along the seams without adding bulk.
  • Lightweight knit hand. The fine-gauge yarn feels smooth and light against bare skin. It has enough natural give to move easily while holding its drape through hours of sitting.
  • Simple washing care. Wash the set on a gentle cycle in cold water with mild detergent. Lay both pieces flat on a towel to dry so the knit legs and sleeves keep their length.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
