What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neckline and split hem. The top has a flat round neck that rests cleanly against the collarbone. Side splits at the hem let the loose body drape straight without bunching over the waistband.
  • Short sleeves and dropped shoulders. We knit the top with short sleeves set into wide armholes. The fabric falls freely down the upper arm without clinging or binding across warm afternoons.
  • Pull on knit shorts. The shorts have an elastic waistband that sits high on the waist. Wide leg openings let the knit move without pulling when you sit or walk.
  • Care and maintenance. Wash both pieces by hand in cool water or use dry cleaning. Lay them flat on a towel away from direct heat so the knit keeps its shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
