We knit both pieces together so the ribbed gauge and color match straight across the set. The zip top lands cropped at the waist with long sleeves that finish in sturdy rib cuffs, while the trousers fall straight from the rollover waistband down to a wide hem.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Ribbed knit gauge. The vertical rib adds mechanical give across the chest and down the legs, springing back into place as you walk. It sits with a soft hand directly against bare skin.
  • Cropped zip hoodie. A full front zip lets you adjust the neckline from open to closed under the hood. Ribbing at the cropped hem keeps the top anchored without pulling tight across your middle.
  • Rollover waist trousers. We shaped the trousers with a rollover ribbed waist that rests flat against your hips. The legs fall in an unbroken straight line to a wide lower opening.
  • Washing and care. Hand wash in cold water or dry clean to protect the rib structure. Press excess moisture out in a folded towel and lay both pieces flat to dry away from heat.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
