What we would tell you in the studio
- Three piece layering. The sleeveless top layers cleanly beneath the long open-front cardigan without bunching. You can wear the duster open over the tank or split the pieces apart to pair with other knits.
- Wide leg cut. The trousers have an elastic waist with an adjustable cord to secure the rise. From the hip down, the knit falls wide and loose, finishing in a full-length hem that settles over shoes.
- Smooth yarn feel. The Lyocell and spandex blend produces a soft, cool surface that stretches easily and recovers its shape. It hangs away from the skin rather than clinging across long hours of sitting.
- Washing and care. Machine wash the pieces in cold water on a gentle cycle. Lay them flat to dry on a towel, or tumble dry on low heat so the stitches keep their smooth texture.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
