What we would tell you in the studio
- V-neck and smocked waist. The open V-neck leads down to a wide band of elastic smocking. This section pulls the cotton eyelet in at the midsection before releasing into the loose skirt, giving the top structure without rigid seams.
- Lined eyelet shell. We construct the outer shell with patterned eyelet cutouts for warm weather airflow. A smooth inner lining sits flat against the skin and keeps the lighter outer layer entirely opaque through the body.
- Tiered short hem. The skirt steps out in gathered tiers, creating volume that hangs away from the legs. The hem finishes above the knee, leaving plenty of room for walking in sandals or flat canvas shoes.
- Washing and care. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the open eyelet work from catching on other garments. Reshape the tiers by hand while damp and lay flat to dry.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
