What we would tell you in the studio

  • Neckline and waist. The open V-neck cuts down to meet a smocked waist band. This construction expands and contracts as you move, keeping the wrap front anchored without pulling across the chest.
  • Sleeve and hem cut. Full-length sleeves run straight to the wrist. Below the waist, the skirt drops into a gentle drape that finishes near the knee, incorporating inset pockets set directly into the side seams.
  • Smooth stretch knit. The yarn blend gives the knit a soft hand and substantial flexibility. It recovers its shape quickly after sitting, resisting creases throughout regular wear.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the print and knit structure. Tumble dry on a low heat setting, or lay flat to dry.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
