What we would tell you in the studio
- Ribbed gauge knit. The fine vertical ribs give the fabric mechanical stretch across the body. The knit stays light and fluid, hanging cleanly rather than gripping your skin.
- Crewneck top cut. We cut the top with a simple round crewneck and long sleeves. It falls straight through the waist, offering an unrestrictive fit that layers easily over a tank.
- Full length bottoms. The trousers fall straight through the leg and land right at the ankle. Because both pieces come from the same dye lot, the color matches top to bottom.
- Washing and care. Machine wash both pieces together in cold water on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low heat, or lay them flat on a towel to preserve the rib structure.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
