What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and drape. The top features a simple round neck and a loose cut that sits clear of the body. The lightweight knit hangs straight down to a cropped hemline without clinging.
  • Sleeve and hem balance. Long sleeves provide coverage while the higher hem keeps the proportions open. Ribbing at the cuffs helps keep the sleeves pushed up or sitting comfortably at the wrists.
  • Matching shorts waist. The coordinating shorts are knitted from the same dye lot to ensure an exact match. An adjustable drawstring at the waist lets you set where they rest on your hips.
  • Laundering the knit. Machine wash cold with like colors to keep the yarn from pilling or stretching out of shape. Tumble dry on a low heat setting and remove promptly.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
