What we would tell you in the studio

  • Open V-neckline. The neckline dips into an open V with a clean knit edge that lies flat against the collarbone. It gives the sleeveless top a relaxed, spacious feel through the chest.
  • Matching knit shorts. We give the shorts an enclosed elastic waistband that holds without pinching. The leg opens wide, allowing the knit fabric to drape loosely through the thigh.
  • Cotton blend yarn. The blend pairs the soft hand of acrylic with the dry, steady weight of cotton. It feels smooth against bare skin and holds its shape through regular wash cycles.
  • Care and maintenance. Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water with similar dark tones. Lay both pieces flat on a clean towel to dry so the knit loops do not stretch out.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
