What we would tell you in the studio
- Crew neck closure. The round crew neckline fastens straight down the front with dyed-to-match buttons. Fasten it fully to wear as a standalone knit top, or leave it unbuttoned over a light base layer.
- Cropped straight cut. The body follows a straight line down to a cropped hemline. It lands high on the torso, resting naturally at the waist without excess bulk gathering around the midsection.
- Light gauge yarn. We use a fine-gauge knit blend that packs down small and recovers its shape after folding. The fabric feels soft against bare skin and adds light coverage during mild weather.
- Washing and care. Wash by hand in cold water or use a professional dry cleaner. Press excess water out gently in a towel and lay the knit flat to dry so the cropped body maintains its shape.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
