What we would tell you in the studio
- Roomy open cut. The loose silhouette hangs away from the torso without pulling or binding across the back. It layers easily over tanks, collared shirts, or light jersey tops.
- Ribbed cuffs and hem. Wide ribbing finishes the cuffs and base hem to help the open knit hold its rectangular shape through days of regular wear.
- Front patch pockets. We knitted two deep pockets directly into the lower front panels. They lie flat against the yarn body while keeping everyday items close at hand.
- Nutmeg yarn care. Hand wash in cold water using a mild wool detergent to maintain the soft hand of the yarn. Lay it flat across a towel to dry.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
