What we would tell you in the studio
- Open front and crewline. The band around the crew neck runs straight down into the front opening without buttons or hardware. It hangs open naturally, keeping the front panels clean and flat against whatever you wear underneath.
- Weight and rib structure. Knitted in a substantial gauge, the vertical rib adds thickness and physical weight to the fabric. That weight keeps the hem steady around the knee instead of catching as you walk.
- Long relaxed sleeves. The sleeves are cut long with enough room through the arm to slide over heavier shirts and long-sleeve tees. The ribbing runs the full length down to the wrist.
- Cold water washing. Wash this knit by hand in cool water to preserve the rib structure. Squeeze out water without twisting, lay it flat on a dry towel to dry, and use steam to release creases.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
