What we would tell you in the studio

  • Wide folded neck. The neckline is knitted with a broad turnover band that holds its place along the shoulder line. You can wear it straight across both shoulders or slide it down on one side.
  • Roomy batwing shape. The body is cut wide with dropped armholes, letting the knit hang loosely away from the torso. Long sleeves narrow down toward the wrist to keep the volume manageable.
  • Warm apricot tone. Apricot is a soft, warm peach tone with yellow undertones. We dye the yarn before knitting so the shade stays consistent through the folded neck and the body.
  • Washing and shape. Hand wash in cold water using a mild wool detergent and press the water out with a dry towel. Lay flat on a drying rack so the weight does not stretch out the neck.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
