What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neckline and yarn. The collar sits close as a classic ribbed crew neck. We selected a soft, fuzzy yarn blend that provides substantial body without feeling stiff, keeping the knit comfortable directly over bare skin or cotton layers.
  • Volume and drop. This is an oversized cut through the chest and waist. The fabric falls straight down without pulling in, giving the pullover a relaxed drape that moves freely over trousers, denim, or knit leggings.
  • Extended lower hem. The lower edge is bound with ribbing and falls low, reaching down below the knee. That extra length gives it the coverage of a long tunic or light sweater dress depending on your base layers.
  • Washing and shape care. To keep the fuzzy surface neat and avoid stretching the heavy knit, hand wash in cold water or dry clean. Press out excess moisture in a towel and dry flat on a rack.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
