Oversized Sweaters for Women
We knit this pullover with a broad, unshaped body that falls straight down past the hips. The round neckline sits flat against the collarbone, while the long sleeves gather slightly at the wrists. It gives you plenty of room to layer over a collared shirt or a basic tee without pulling tight across the back.

What we would tell you in the studio
- Roomy body cut. The torso is cut straight and wide, falling loose from the shoulder down to the lower hem. It rests away from the waist and hips rather than hugging close.
- Plain crew neckline. We finished the neck with a close round band that keeps its shape throughout the day. It sits neat against the base of the throat without pinching.
- Full length sleeves. The long sleeves extend past the wrist with enough width through the arm for easy movement. Ribbed cuffs keep the extra length in place over your hands.
- Laundering and care. Wash on a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag, or wash by hand in cold water. Lay the piece flat on a clean towel to dry so the knit does not stretch.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
