What we would tell you in the studio

  • High neck construction. A sturdy mock collar stands on its own without rolling down. It leaves enough room at the throat to avoid feeling tight while keeping the neckline neat through hours of wear.
  • Roomy body cut. The top drops straight through the torso and lands cleanly around the hip. Wide arm openings keep the short sleeves loose, allowing air through the knit fabric during warmer days.
  • Matching knit trousers. We shape the pants with a relaxed leg that tapers slightly toward the ankle. Knitted as a pair with the top, the fabric holds its tension across the seat and knees.
  • Laundering and drying. Hand wash in cool water with mild wool detergent to protect the knit structure. Press excess water out in a clean towel and lay both pieces flat to dry.

Living with this one

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
