What we would tell you in the studio

  • Cable and eyelet knit. The knit combines traditional raised cables with pierced eyelet stitching across the body. That open texture softens the weight of the piece while keeping the fabric soft against bare forearms.
  • Roomy straight cut. We give the body a wide, square cut that falls clear of your waistline down toward the hem. The button placket stays flat down the center whether you fasten it fully or wear it open.
  • Set-in long sleeves. Long sleeves finish in ribbed cuffs that stay in place when pushed up the wrist. The armholes give you enough room to layer a long-sleeve tee or a collared shirt underneath without bunching.
  • Washing and flat drying. Wash this cardigan in cool water on a gentle cycle or by hand. Squeeze out excess water without twisting, skip the tumble dryer, and lay it flat on a dry towel to preserve the stitch shape.

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
