What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and short sleeve. The top features a simple round crew neckline and loose short sleeves that drop easily off the shoulder. A short cropped hem balances the wider cut of the torso.
  • Wide leg with drawstring. We knit the trousers with a wide leg profile and an elastic waistband secured by an adjustable drawstring. Deep side pockets are set directly into the side seams.
  • Color block knit. Contrast knit panels are joined directly to the apricot yarn across the body of the top. Both pieces come from the same yarn dye lot for uniform texture.
  • Laundering the set. Machine wash both pieces together on a gentle cold cycle using mild detergent. Lay the top and trousers flat on a towel to dry so the knit retains its length.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
