Womens Cable Knit Sweater Early Fall
We knit this pullover with traditional cable panels across the body and arms, finished in plain black. The cut runs straight through the torso without clinging or billowing, and the crew neckline sits flat against the collarbone. What we would tell you in the studio
- Cable knit structure. The raised cables add physical depth and structure to the knit. Because the yarn blends cotton and acrylic, the pattern holds its shape without feeling heavy during early autumn wear.
- Straight torso cut. The body hangs in a clean vertical line from the shoulder to the lower hem. It leaves enough room for a collared shirt underneath without bunching around the sides.
- Crew neck and cuffs. We finished the round neckline with a compact rib that holds its shape through regular pulling over the head. Matching ribbing at the long cuffs keeps the sleeves in place at the wrist.
- Wash and care. Hand washing in cool water or dry cleaning protects the cable definition. Press excess water out in a dry towel and lay the sweater flat to dry to avoid pulling the knit out of shape.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
