What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crochet eyelet stitch. Open knitwork runs across the chest and body, giving the yarn texture and letting air through. The stitch creates small geometric eyelets bordered by dense ribs that hold the cardigan shape.
  • Crew neck and front placket. The rounded crew neckline sits flat against the collarbone. Tonal buttons run down the center band to give you the option of fastening the layer shut against a breeze or leaving it parted.
  • Roomy straight cut. The body is cut wide so the cotton-blend yarn hangs away from the torso rather than clinging. Long sleeves finish in ribbed cuffs that stay put on the wrist without binding.
  • Washing and flat drying. Hand wash in cold water or use a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. Do not bleach or tumble dry. Press the excess water out with a dry towel and lay it flat to dry.
