What we would tell you in the studio
- Crew neck closure. The round collar is finished with a neat band that holds its circle when fastened. Vintage-style buttons run down the centre front placket so you can fasten it high or leave the bottom open.
- Roomy body cut. We shaped the torso with generous width through the chest and waist. The fabric falls straight rather than clinging, leaving plenty of space for base layers underneath.
- Plush yarn hand. Spun from a soft, brushed yarn blend with added stretch, this knit stays smooth against bare arms. The surface has a gentle nap that traps air for quiet warmth.
- Washing and shape. Hand wash in cool water or use a delicate machine cycle. Press out water gently in a clean towel and lay the knit flat to dry so the placket stays straight.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
