Womens Fall Bow Cardigan Sweater Cropped Tie Front V Neck Outfits

We knit this cropped piece with a chunky gauge that stays light in hand. The front fastens with adjustable knit bow ties along an open V-neck, while the short sleeves and roomy cut hang away from the torso. It layers cleanly over tanks, tees, and high-waisted bottoms.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Tie front closure. Adjustable fabric ties fasten the front opening into soft bows. You can tie them snug to close the gap or leave them loose over a camisole, letting the knit hang straight down from the shoulders.
  • Chunky open knit. We used a chunky yarn structure that traps warmth without adding heavy bulk. The stitch definition gives the body texture, while the loose gauge lets the fabric drape rather than stand stiff.
  • Sleeve and hem cut. Short sleeves leave your forearms bare for mild days and easy layering. The hem finishes at a cropped length that meets the waistband of high-rise trousers, denim, or knit skirts.
  • Care and shape. Wash this piece by hand or in a mesh bag on a gentle cycle with cold water. Reshape the front ties while damp and lay the cardigan flat to dry so the knit retains its original length.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
