Womens Lightweight Cardigan Fall Cute Sweaters Grey Melange

We knit this button-front layer in a medium-weight yarn with a smooth, soft hand against bare skin. The dropped shoulders and roomy body keep it away from the torso, while the round crew neckline buttons fully shut or rests open over base layers. It finishes right at the top of the hip.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck construction. The plain round crew neckline is framed with a compact rib that holds its shape when worn fully buttoned or open. It sits flat against the collarbone without pulling backward.
  • Body and drape. The body is cut with extra room through the chest and waist, hanging straight down to the hip line. Dropped shoulder seams let the fabric fall naturally without bunching around the underarms.
  • Grey melange yarn. We blended light and dark tones into this grey melange yarn to give the flat surface visual depth. The knit has a dense, smooth finish that resists sagging through a full day of wear.
  • Washing and care. Hand wash this knit in cold water with mild soap to protect the soft texture. Press out water with a towel and dry it flat on a drying rack instead of hanging.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
