What we would tell you in the studio

  • High neck construction. The mock neck stands upright without ribbing that bites. It sits close around the collarbone while the open front drops straight down, balancing the cropped length below.
  • Dropped sleeve profile. We set the armholes low on the body for a relaxed drape across the shoulders. The long sleeves taper slightly toward the wrist so they push up easily and stay put.
  • Roomy cropped body. The body is cut wide and loose, hanging straight without clinging to inner layers. Finishing the hem higher creates a boxy profile that sits cleanly over high-waisted trousers or slip dresses.
  • Cold water care. Hand wash in cold water or run a gentle machine cycle with mild detergent. Reshape the knit while damp and dry it flat on a towel to protect the shape of the pockets.

Living with this one

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
