What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck and raglan sleeve. The top sits loose through the chest and shoulders, using a raglan cut that removes the standard shoulder seam. A compact crewneck rib holds the collar flat against the collarbone without stretching out.
  • Wide leg trouser cut. The trousers pull on with an enclosed elastic band that sits flat across the waist. From the hip down, the knit drops straight into a wide hem with contrast piping outlining the outer seam.
  • Nutmeg yarn and gauge. We use a smooth, medium-gauge knit that stays soft on bare skin. It holds enough body to drape straight down the leg rather than cling, keeping the slouchy shape through a full day of wear.
  • Gentle wash care. Hand washing in cold water keeps the yarn smooth. If using a machine, choose a gentle cycle with mild detergent, avoid bleach, and lay both pieces flat on a clean towel to air dry.

Living with this one
