What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and long sleeves. The top is knitted with a simple ribbed crew neckline that sits flat against the collarbone. Long sleeves finish in clean self-start cuffs that push up easily along the forearm.
  • Vented hip-length hem. The body of the top drops straight to the hip. Deep side slits break the hemline so the fabric moves without bunching when you sit or walk.
  • Fitted pocket shorts. The matching shorts sit high on the waist with a wide elastic band. We added a flat side pocket along the outer thigh to hold small everyday items securely.
  • Cold water care. Wash the set together on a gentle cold cycle to preserve the dye match across both pieces. Lay flat to dry so the knit retains its shape without stretching out.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
