What we would tell you in the studio
- Close bodycon cut. The knit relies on high-stretch yarn to sit snug against the skin from the chest down to the hem. It recovers its shape after sitting, keeping the line straight and compact.
- Clean crew neckline. A plain round neck finishes the top edge without bulk. The knit banding lies flat against the skin, giving you space to wear a short necklace or layer beneath an open jacket.
- Short straight hem. The hem lands high on the thigh with a finished self-edge that stays in place as you walk. It pairs cleanly with flat sandals, low sneakers, or a taller boot.
- Washing and yarn care. Machine wash inside a mesh laundry bag on a gentle cycle with like colours. Lay the dress flat across a drying rack to preserve the recovery of the stretch yarn.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
