Women's Off The Shoulder Sweater Dress
We knit this dress in a soft, stretchy ribbed yarn in a warm apricot tone. The wide collar folds over to sit off the shoulders, balancing the long straight lines through the torso and sleeves. The skirt falls straight past the knee toward the ankle.

What we would tell you in the studio
- Wide foldover neck. The knitted collar folds over at the top edge and sits wide across the shoulders, resting flat without bunching or rolling while you move.
- Ribbed body and sleeves. Fine gauge vertical ribbing gives the yarn natural stretch. It hugs close along the arms and torso, then recovers its shape when you take it off.
- Straight long hem. The knit runs straight down past the knee toward the lower calf. A small bottom hem holds its shape without curling outward during wear.
- Wash and lay flat. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the fine rib from snagging. Reshape the collar while damp and dry flat on a towel.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
