What we would tell you in the studio
- Open crochet stitch. The loose, openwork crochet allows air to pass through freely while giving the light blue yarn a visible, textured grid across the body.
- Front tie closure. Self-knit ties secure the open front along the v-neck. You can fasten them tight to close the gap or knot them loosely over a base layer.
- Sleeveless straight cut. The body falls straight from the shoulder line with wide armholes and a relaxed hem that lands around the hips without clinging.
- Washing and care. Hand wash in cold water using a gentle detergent. Press out excess moisture in a towel and dry flat on a rack so the open stitches do not stretch out.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
