Womens Turtleneck Oversized Long Sweater Dress
We knit this dress with an open, roomy body that hangs straight down rather than pulling in. The tall folded neck stays upright around the collarbone. Long batwing sleeves taper down toward the wrists, and the hem drops low enough to wear on its own or pulled over trousers.

What we would tell you in the studio
- Tall folded collar. The high neck is knitted with enough structure to hold its shape around the throat without pressing tight. You can wear it standing straight or turned down once at the top edge.
- Dropped batwing sleeve. The armholes sit low on the torso to give the upper body plenty of room. From the elbow down, the sleeve narrows into ribbing so the fabric stays put around your wrists.
- Lower hem with splits. Side splits break the bottom edge so the knit moves freely when you walk. The hem lands near the knees, giving solid coverage whether you wear it bare-legged or over heavy tights.
- Washing and care. Hand wash in cool water or use a gentle cycle with a laundry net. Lay the dress flat across a drying rack so the damp knit holds its shape instead of stretching out.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
