What we would tell you in the studio
- Open crew neck. The plain round crew neckline stays open down the front without buttons or hooks. It frames the collarbone cleanly and stays flat when worn over high collars or scoop neck tops.
- Short sleeve cut. The short sleeves are cut neat against the shoulder and upper arm. They give shoulder coverage without adding fabric bulk under heavier coats or jackets.
- Cropped waist hem. We stopped the length short at the waistline. The hem rests neatly against high-waisted skirts and tailored trousers without bunching or needing to be tucked.
- Yarn hand and care. The fine-gauge yarn has a soft, brushed feel against bare skin with built-in give. Machine wash on a cold cycle and dry flat so the knit holds its short shape.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
