We knit this with a fuzzy, thick yarn that holds heat through cold months. The shape is wide and hangs clear of the torso down toward the lower leg. Ribbed bands finish the round neck, wrists, and hem to keep the edges neat.

What we would tell you in the studio
- Roomy body cut. The body is cut wide and drops straight down past the knee. It stays loose over shirts or thermal layers without pulling across the back or shoulders.
- Crew neck and cuffs. A simple round neck sits flat against the collarbone with wide ribbing. Matching rib at the wrists gathers the extra sleeve length so it stays put over hands.
- Thick fuzzy yarn. We blended wool and synthetic fibres into a plush yarn with a brushed, textured surface. It softens up noticeably after the first wash and holds substantial warmth.
- Laying flat to dry. Wash on a cold gentle cycle or hand wash to keep the brushed surface intact. Squeeze out water without twisting, then lay it flat on a towel.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
