What we would tell you in the studio

  • High neck and straight body. The sweater sits close around the throat with a stand collar or mock neck. Through the torso, the cut runs straight down without tapering into the waist or flaring at the waistline.
  • Knitted pleats on the skirt. The skirt uses vertical knit ribs that open into pleats around the lower half. It sits high on the waist, holds enough weight to swing naturally as you walk, and ends well above the knee.
  • Matching gauge and yarn. We knit both pieces from the same soft-touch stretch yarn. Because they come from a single dye lot, the dark grey tone stays uniform from the sweater collar down through the skirt hem.
  • Washing and shape care. Wash both pieces inside out in cold water on a gentle cycle, preferably in a mesh laundry bag. Lay them flat to dry on a towel rather than hanging, which keeps the pleats and shoulders from stretching out.

  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
