What we would tell you in the studio
- Double layer construction. The white knit is constructed with two fine layers through the body. This build keeps the light shade solid rather than sheer while maintaining flexibility through the hips and torso.
- Crew neckline. The neck is finished with a simple round crew band. It sits flat against the collarbone, creating a clean base that layers under cardigans, jackets, or heavier knitwear.
- Long straight sleeves. Single-layer sleeves extend to the wrist in a fitted cut. They stay close to the arm so you can slide a heavier coat or loose sweater over them without bunching.
- Washing and care. Machine wash cold using a mesh laundry bag to protect the fine surface from snagging. Tumble dry on a low heat setting, or lay the piece flat to dry.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
