Womens Bodycon Maxi Long Dresses
We knit this long dress to sit close to the body from the round neckline down to the ankle. The double-layered construction keeps the fabric opaque while retaining stretch across the arms and torso. It works worn alone or under heavy winter coats.

What we would tell you in the studio
- Double layer build. Two fine layers knit together give the fabric substance and opacity. The stretch moves with the body and recovers its line when you take the dress off.
- Crew neck and sleeves. The crew neckline sits flat at the base of the throat without pulling. Long, close sleeves run straight down to the wrist bone.
- Maxi length hem. The hem falls straight to the lower calf or ankle. Because the cut follows the body closely, the hem stays put without twisting as you walk.
- Washing and care. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the fine surface yarn. Tumble dry on low heat or lay it flat on a towel.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
