What we would tell you in the studio
- Crossover halter cut. The open front crosses over the chest into a halter neck while long knit sleeves cover the arms. The structure leaves the upper chest open while keeping the lower body relaxed.
- Longline drape. The hem drops well below the knee toward the ankle. Because we knit the body with a generous width, the fine gauge yarn falls straight down rather than pulling close.
- Lightweight yarn blend. We spun viscose, polyester, and nylon into a smooth, fine yarn. It sits light against bare skin and packs flat for travel without losing its recovery.
- Care and washing. Hand washing in cold water protects the open knit edges best. If you choose a machine, use a gentle cold cycle with mild detergent, then lay the piece flat to dry.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
