What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crossed halter neck. The neckline crosses over the chest in an open halter shape, leaving the collarbones bare while keeping its structure through the knit edge.
  • Roomy extended hem. We knit the body loose and broad through the waist and hips. The hem falls long, landing near the ankle with a clean, unribbed finish.
  • Smooth fine gauge. The fine-gauge stitch blends yarn for a soft, fluid drape that resists bulk. It feels light on the skin and packs flat for travel.
  • Wash and lay flat. Hand wash in cold water or use the gentle cycle with mild detergent. Do not bleach. Reshape the knit and dry it flat.

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
