What we would tell you in the studio
- Collar and split neck. The stand collar folds open into a deep V-neck with neat button detailing. Contrasting trim outlines the placket, keeping the neckline structured so it lies flat instead of curling.
- Roomy straight body. The body is knitted wide to hang away from the waist and hips. It gives you plenty of ease through the middle, dropping into an extended hemline that settles straight across.
- Smooth fine gauge. We chose a blended yarn with a silky hand feel and a steady, flat knit face. It provides light warmth for cool days without feeling heavy or bulky under an outer coat.
- Washing and flat drying. Wash on a cold, gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag, or wash by hand. Reshape the collar while damp and lay the sweater flat to dry to protect the knit structure.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
