What we would tell you in the studio
- High neck construction. The neck stands tall in a neat rib to hold its structure without folding over tight. It stays upright through wear and sits comfortably against bare skin without tugging.
- Roomy straight cut. We dropped the shoulders and widened the body so the fabric hangs straight down to the hip line. The relaxed shape leaves plenty of space underneath for thin base tees or camisoles.
- Dark Apricot yarn. The warm, soft-toned orange knit is dyed evenly throughout the batch. The yarn blend offers medium weight, giving enough density for crisp autumn air without becoming bulky under an overcoat.
- Care and washing. Hand wash the knit in cool water with mild soap, or run it through a gentle cold machine cycle. Press excess moisture out in a towel and dry it flat to keep the neck and hem in shape.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
