Wide Leg Dress Work Pants Womens Trousers Slacks Pantalones Mujer

These wide-leg trousers are cut from a smooth knit cloth that holds a straight drape through the leg. We built the front with a concealed button closure and tailored front seams, while the back waistband uses hidden elastic to keep the fit steady. The leg opening hangs wide and loose from the hip down.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Waistband and front fly. A concealed button and functional zipper fly keep the front waist flat. Hidden elastic through the back band flexes as you sit, while belt loops with button detailing give you the option to add a belt.
  • Leg cut and seams. Front vertical seams run the length of each leg, giving the wide cut clear definition. The cloth falls straight from the hip with a generous width that stays off the lower leg.
  • Side and back pockets. Deep pockets are set into the side seams to carry small items without pulling the cloth out of shape. Decorative welt pockets sit flat across the back to maintain a smooth surface.
  • Cloth care. Wash on a cold cycle inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the front seams and waistband stitching. Lay flat to dry or run on low heat in the dryer to keep the deep navy dye rich.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
