Women Flare Dress Work Pants Business Casual Bootcut Fall Trouser

We knit these trousers with a firm, resilient hand that holds its line through a full day of movement. The cut is roomy through the leg and finishes in a steady bootcut flare. An elasticized waist and zipper closure keep the top flat, while side pockets sit flush along the hips.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Pintuck front detail. A raised vertical pintuck runs straight down the center of each leg. This ridge adds physical structure to the knit, helping the front panels hold their shape rather than clinging or bagging at the knees.
  • Waist and pockets. The waistband incorporates elastic for flex and fastens with a clean zipper closure. Two inset side pockets sit along the upper seam lines to give you functional space without breaking the outer line of the hip.
  • Bootcut leg line. The leg opens gradually from the knee downward into a balanced flare. This lower profile sits cleanly over loafers, low boots, or flat leather shoes without gathering or dragging along the floor.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors to protect the surface of the yarn. Tumble dry on low heat or hang them up to dry, and use a low iron if you need to press the pintuck.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
