What we would tell you in the studio

  • Halter neck structure. The open halter line secures behind the neck, leaving the shoulders and upper back bare. It sets the vertical hang of the fabric straight down through the body.
  • Lightweight knit hand. We used a smooth, fine-gauge synthetic yarn that stays cool to the touch and moves freely in the air. The knit holds its drape without building up bulk or weight.
  • Short straight hem. The hem finishes high on the leg with a clean edge that stays flat. It falls straight from the underarm line rather than widening out, keeping the profile compact.
  • Simple wash routine. Wash this piece on a gentle cycle in cold water or by hand in a basin. Lay it flat across a dry towel so the halter ties and hem maintain their shape.
