What we would tell you in the studio

  • High folded neck. The neck is ribbed and cut tall so you can fold it over once or let it gather loosely around the collar. It holds its shape without pinching against the throat.
  • Roomy cut and split hem. Dropped shoulders lead into wide long sleeves that taper at the cuffs. The hem drops low and features deep side slits so the fabric moves freely when you walk.
  • Smooth yarn hand. We blended viscose, polyamide, and polyester yarns for a soft, dense hand that has natural stretch. The knit provides a clean drape without feeling heavy or stiff.
  • Washing and care. Hand wash in cold water or run on a gentle machine cycle with mild soap. Lay the knit flat on a towel to dry so the long body keeps its shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
