What we would tell you in the studio

  • Buttoned Henley neck. The round crew neckline features a buttoned placket that stays closed across the chest. It keeps the collar flat and neat without opening up as you move.
  • Wide leg cut. The matching trousers are knitted with a generous leg that falls straight from the waist. Deep side pockets are set into the seams to hold small items without pulling on the waistband.
  • Yarn and texture. We chose a cotton rich yarn with a light natural crinkle across the surface. It breathes well, feels soft against bare skin, and holds its shape through full days of wear.
  • Care and drying. Wash this set in cold water on a gentle cycle with like colours to preserve the black dye. Lay both pieces flat on a clean towel to dry rather than hanging them.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
