What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and cropped hem. The top has a simple round neckline and drops loosely away from the chest. The shorter hem meets the high rise of the trousers cleanly without bunching.
  • Wide leg trouser cut. We knit the pants with a roomy leg that falls straight from the hip down. An adjustable drawstring cord runs through the waistband to secure the rise.
  • Long sleeve coverage. Full length sleeves fall straight from a dropped shoulder seam down to the wrists. The loose knit gives your arms full room to move throughout the day.
  • Cold water wash care. Wash both pieces in cold water on a gentle cycle to protect the yarn structure. Lay the top and trousers flat on a towel to dry so the knit keeps its shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
