What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck top. The top is knitted with a simple round collar and long sleeves. It hangs loose through the body, ending in a cropped hem that clears the waistband of the trousers beneath it.
  • Wide trousers. The matching pants fall straight from an elasticated drawstring waistband down to a wide cuff. The knit moves freely around the legs without clinging as you walk.
  • Green dye lot. We spin and dye both pieces together in green so the shade matches across the top and bottom. The plain knit structure keeps the surface smooth and even.
  • Wash and care. Hand wash in cool water or use a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Reshape both pieces while damp and dry them flat on a towel to protect the cotton stitches.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
