What we would tell you in the studio

  • Stretch denim hand. The fabric blends cotton softness with synthetic elasticity to keep the skinny shape through repeated wears. It moves easily without straining the seams, offering the look of woven denim with the give of a legging.
  • High pull on waist. We constructed the waist with an internal elastic band that stays in place without belt loops or metal buttons. The rise sits high on the torso, resting flat beneath fine gauge knitwear without bulk.
  • Ankle length cut. The skinny leg tapers straight down to a narrow ankle hem that tucks neatly into boots or sits clean over low shoes. The fitted opening keeps the fabric taut across the calf and knee.
  • Cold water care. Wash this pair in cold water on a gentle cycle to preserve the deep black dye and protect the elastic recovery. Line dry or lay flat out of direct heat to maintain the stretch.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
