What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crossover halter neck. The neckline crosses over at the throat, securing the front panel while leaving the arms and upper back open. The band sits flat without twisting or pulling.
  • Roomy long cut. We shaped the body with extra ease through the middle. The knit falls straight down past the hip and settles long near the ankle, moving freely as you walk.
  • Lightweight warm yarn. Viscose, polyester, and nylon are spun together for a cool, supple hand. The stitches have enough natural give to move with you without losing their shape across the day.
  • Gentle wash care. Hand wash in cold water with mild soap to protect the neckband. If you use a machine, select the gentle cycle and lay the knit flat on a towel to dry.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
