Womens Quarter Zip Striped Oversized Fall Sweater
Horizontal contrast stripes run across the body and down the long sleeves of this quarter-zip sweater. We knit it with dropped shoulders and a roomy cut that hangs away from the torso down to the hip. The zip collar pulls up high against the neck or folds down flat over the collarbone.

What we would tell you in the studio
- Ribbed yarn texture. The body uses a medium-weight ribbed knit with clear vertical wales that give the piece horizontal give. It feels smooth against bare skin and holds its shape without heavy bulk.
- Quarter zip neckline. A metal zip lets you close the neck right up to the chin or open it down into a spread collar. The knitted collar band stays upright when zipped.
- Dropped shoulder room. We dropped the armholes low on the shoulder line to keep the chest wide and loose. The long sleeves taper gently toward the ribbed wrists to keep the volume manageable.
- Washing and care. Hand wash this knit in cool water or have it dry cleaned. Squeeze the excess water out in a towel and dry the garment flat on a drying rack so the heavy hem does not stretch.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
